We are getting bigger and better all the time and we are pleased that many of our members are choosing to represent us at Riding Club qualifiers, but even if competing is not your cup of tea we have plenty more on offer. First and foremost we are a club for people with an interest - not to say passion! - for horses of all shapes and sizes, concerned with improving our horsemanship and providing the best standard of care to our equines, whilst enjoying the fellowship of other riders.
We will be holding a QUIZ NIGHT to raise club funds on Monday, 13th July, at The Crown, Lea. Members and non-members are welcome. Start 7.30pm, teams of 2 to 5 - £5 per team. Please come along!
On12th July at Chepstow the Area 15 Horse Trials Qualifier is taking place. We have junior and senior teams and individuals taking part in both. Good luck to you all! In addition, BRC are holding a new series of qualifiers leading to finals being held at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May 2010. These are very much aimed at "Grass Roots" riders and it is not necessary to even be a Riding Club member to compete in the first round. The qualifiers include a Riding Test and Novice and Intermediate Jumping for Juniors and Seniors. More information on this and the other BRC Competitions and Events is available on the BRC Website.
Last year we were pleased to welcome Offa's Dyke Family Riding Club members to the club at a preferential membership rate, with many of our members also enjoying the series of shows hosted by ODFRC at The Speech House. This year we have gone one further and are delighted to offer a combined membership to ODFRC and FoDRC for just £25 - a saving of £10 on the individual memberships of each club. One benefit of being a riding club member is that we can study for qualifications which are recognised as equivalent to the BHS stages exams, but at a significantly lower cost. Two of the clubs within our area are offering training currently, so if you are interested please get in touch by email or submit a feedback form.
